Things to know about fall protection on industrial roofs
Safety barriers from LUX-top® for industrial roofs
The industrial roof is a complex component that has to fulfill many – sometimes contradictory – requirements. It should be lightweight so that it can span large areas without effort. At the same time, the roof should be strong enough to accommodate building technology components. If the worst comes to the worst, it should contribute to the protection of people and the building via the smoke and heat extraction system. The industrial roof is equipped with numerous skylight domes, continuous rooflights and other daylight elements so that natural daylight can be used and less artificial lighting is required. In addition, as a green roof with extensive or intensive greening or as an energy roof with photovoltaic or solar thermal systems, it will also make a major contribution to sustainability and the energy transition.
Whether trapezoidal profiles, sandwich elements, concrete structures or wooden constructions or metal roofs with a particularly good CO₂ balance: as absolute specialists and experienced manufacturers of fall protection systems, we have the right product for you.
Safety on industrial roofs: prevent falls with LUX-top®
Whether with or without parapet, greened, partially used, with or without penetrations: LUX-top® fall protection systems for industrial roofs offer an optimum solution for every design, enabling safe working on the roof in an uncomplicated manner. Load-supported or permanently installed side protection systems offer the greatest degree of freedom when working on the roof. These guardrails reduce the use of PPE (personal fall protection equipment) on the roof to a pleasant minimum.
Weather-resistant fall protection systems such as anchor points and rail systems from LUX-top® are ideal for installation on industrial roofs. Securely connected to the ground, our products for attaching PPE provide reliable support for users such as roofers, maintenance technicians and industrial climbers. Are you looking for solutions for collective protection on flat roofs? You are sure to find what you are looking for in our extensive range of guardrail systems!

FAQ: frequently asked questions about fall protection on industrial roofs
What certifications do the fall protection systems for industrial roofs have?
The production of the fall protection systems meets very high standards thanks to the certification of the manufacturer ST QUADRAT Fall Protection S.A: in accordance with EN 1090-2 and ISO 9001. they also have a type examination certificate in accordance with DIN EN 795 and DIN CEN/TS 16415:2017, a general building authority approval (abZ) and general type approval (aBG) from the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt). LUX-top® Safety Catchers for industrial roofs for collective protection are also tested in accordance with DIN EN 13374 and, in some cases, DIN14094-2 (escape routes on flat and pitched roofs).
To what extent are the fall protection systems for industrial roofs officially tested?
All our anchor points, guardrails and rail systems undergo factory production control (FPC) in accordance with EN 1090-2 in order to meet even the highest requirements.
What are the advantages of collective protection on the industrial roof?
LUX-top® systems for collective protection on industrial roofs allow large post spacings of up to 2.50 m and can be installed quickly, easily and, depending on the design variant, without penetration. The flat counterweights of the load-supported systems reduce the risk of tripping. In addition, no training is required to use the PPE. There are also hardly any maintenance costs.
